Privacy Policy

1. General
This Statement is an addition to the Terms and Conditions. Therefore, the general definitions and provisions of the Terms and Conditions apply. The Provider operates the Service in full compliance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016, hereinafter referred to as GDPR) and the Italian laws on privacy and data protection (Legislative Decree n. 196/2003 "Privacy Code").
The Provider respects your privacy and therefore protects your personal data. Synergy2GO is not one a Web service that exists primarily in order to collect personal data of Users, but collects data of Patients that have agreed to take part in a scientific study or research, have voluntarily allowed the use of their medical data and have read, understood and signed, before a Users (e.g. Scientist, Doctor, Researcher, Specialist), the informed consent form about storage and usage of their data. The Users are directly responsible for the management and protection of patient's medical data collected by using the Service and for the preservation of the informed consent form copy signed by the patients.
This statement is a binding agreement between the Provider and each User. The User expressly consents to storage and processing of his/her personal data and patients medical data for which is directly responsible, as described and defined in this statement.
2. Master Data
Master data, in this statement, means all data related directly to a User as a person, irrespective of your actual usage of the Service. This includes i.e. a User's name, email address and other contact information, birthday, gender, center/company/hospital name, information about what scientific study or research Groups the User is a member of. Synergy2GO will store master data and the information that User enter and submit on the Web service.
Synergy2GO will process your master data in order to run the Web service, for example, if any member user of the same working Group visits your profile page, we process your data in order to show your profile page with very basic data; e.g. your name, center or company name. Synergy2GO will also process your master data to provide dynamic Web pages to you that are individually adapted considering your master data. Furthermore, Synergy2GO reserves the right to process your master data User to generate anonymous statistics. Such anonymous statistics will contain no information about any individual user.
Synergy2GO will process your email address solely to send emails to you containing information or notifications about the Service. Synergy2GO reserves the right to attach a minor part to such emails containing advertisements for products and services of any third party.
You can see your data on your profile pages. If you wish to modify or cancel your Synergy2GO subscription (your master data, username and password), please contact Synergy2GO by email through "contact us" form in the home page, we will delete all your data.
3. Patients Data
Patients data, in this statement, means all medical data related directly to a Patient as a person, irrespective of your actual usage of the Service. This includes i.e. a name and last name initials, date of birth, gender, ethnic origin, center or hospital name, medical information about the scientific study or research the Patient has voluntarily agreed to take part in and the User (e.g. Scientist, Doctor, Researcher, Specialist) responsible for the management and protection of patients data. Synergy2GO will store patients data and the medical information that User enters and submits on the Web service.
Synergy2GO cares about the respecting patients privacy, so any patients data will be anonymised and identified only by name and last name initials and date of birth; it is not possible stored complete name and last name of the patients.
Synergy2GO will process patients data in order to run the Web service, for example, if any member user of the same working Group visits patients page, we process their data in order to show patients page with their madical data; e.g. name and last name initials, center or company name, medical information. Furthermore, Synergy2GO reserves the right to process patients data User to generate anonymous statistics. Such anonymous statistics will contain no information about any individual patients.
You can see patients data on your patients pages. If you wish to modify or cancel patients data you can use the functionalities available through the Web service.
4. Traffic Data
Traffic data is data about your Synergy2GO usage. This is mainly tracking information on log-in times, duration, and activities while logged in Traffic data also includes your IP address/es and information sent automatically by your Web browser such as your browser software, preferred languages, and the name of your operating system.
Synergy2GO collects your traffic data, as defined before, and will store that data for the duration of your session (a session starts when you log in and ends when you log out. The session automatically times out after approx. 60 minutes of inactivity). After your session ends, Synergy2GO reserves the right to store traffic data for one day. During that period, your data is only connected to your IP address and not to your user account, which has your personal information. Synergy2GO will not be able to attach any individual user's name to traffic data. However, it is possible that someone else (i.e., your internet service provider) could do so. After this one day, Synergy2GO will only store information about how many profile or scientific study or research pages you viewed within thirty days. Only the number of pages are saved. Information about which pages you have viewed and when are not stored.
During your session, Synergy2GO needs to process traffic data to provide the Web service. After the session, Synergy2GO reserves the right to process traffic data (within one day, as mentioned above) to generate anonymous statistics. Synergy2GO uses this information to improve its services and user experience. Synergy2GO may also process traffic data for security and fraud-detection reasons. The number of profile or scientific study or research pages you viewed is a security measure for the protection of personal data. Processing this information helps Synergy2GO detect and prevent "data harvesting", meaning automatic retrieval of profile pages to gain many users' personal data.
Please contact Synergy2GO by email through "contact us" form in the home page for any requests related to viewing, changing or deleting your traffic data. When you cancel your Synergy2GO subscription, we automatically delete your personal traffic data.
5. Cookies
You also provide personal data to us when you interact with the Service via cookies as described in the statement on Cookies Policy.
6. Transmission of data to Third Parties
Synergy2GO will not sell or otherwise share personal data or patients medical data, but reserves the right to appoint third parties to certain tasks, such as database or software development. For that purpose, it might be necessary for personal data or patients medical data to be shared with and processed by such third parties. In this case, Synergy2GO remains fully responsible for your personal data and will bind any and all third parties to a written agreement ensuring they comply with this statement on privacy and data protection. Synergy2GO is committed to its user's privacy, hence we are dedicated to choosing a contractor that is trustworthy, and who will operate under the legal regime of the GDPR. Synergy2GO may nevertheless be obliged to share or grant access to data if ordered to do so by a court or a competent judicial authority.

8. Changes to Statement on Privacy Policy
By using the Service, you expressly agree to this Statement on Privacy Policy. When this Statement on Privacy Policy changes, you will be informed at the time you login to Synergy2GO for the first time after the change was made, and you will be requested to agree to the new Statement on Privacy Policy. Synergy2GO won't make any binding changes to this Statement on Privacy Policy without your express consent.
